'08 Thomas Family Campout

Every year in Brandon's family, we go on a campout to somewhere wonderful. This year we went to the Ponderosa Pines Campground in Nephi canyon. We spent three days there and enjoyed every moment. The nephews and niece were so darn cute. I just had to show pictures. Plus Brandon and I played two rounds of badminton, becoming the winners of the losers. Mom did super-d-duper job at planning the WHOLE thing. We love you Mom and Dad, thank you so much. 'K, now time for the pictures.

19 weeks 6 days

There's no doubt about it - our baby is making me FAT! Yes, I'm blaming it all on the baby. Haha! I'm 19 weeks 6 days today and I'm feeling pretty good for being this pregnant.

Wow, what the heck? That's quite the profile. Even my Mother thinks I look further along then I am. I really don't mind just as long as the baby is healthy.

Two week countdown

With any luck we'll know the gender of our baby in just 2 more weeks! I am so anxious and excited to find out whether it will be a girl or a boy. Brandon and I are both crossing our fingers for a boy since neither one of us had an older brother. But, I know that we'll be so happy and so excited if it is a girl instead.

Every week I go to my favorite pregnant lady website (i-am-pregnant.com) and check on the status of our baby and read the comments from other pregnant ladies across the nation. I've been amazed at how many ladies already know the gender at week 18 (tomorrow I'll be 19 weeks). I guess my Dr. likes to wait a little longer.

A Supercalifragilisticexpealidous evening

Bran and I took the opportunity last night to go and enjoy a lovely dinner at The Olive Garden (that you so much Alli for the GC)! It was so nice to get away for dinner and enjoy wonderful conversation with my sweetie. I was amazed when I came home and realized that I really, really needed that "night out". Being pregnant makes the daily grind of life so laborious.

With our upcoming baby I've been getting more and more nervous about being a Mom and a wife too. I know that I have absolutely no idea how hard it's going to be and that scares me to death! Thankfully though I am excited to be a stay-at-home mommy and I think I'll do okay at being a housewife. I'm so grateful that Bran supports me in this new endeavor. I literally couldn't do any of this without him.

Okay, I'm sitting here crying at my computer screen now - how ridiculous! I blame it totally on being pregnant. This post isn't a typical one for me, so enjoy it for what it's worth.

Lucky me - NOT!

What a lucky girl I am. Today I experienced my first adventure with spacers. They are very interesting little things. Instead of mine being blue like the one in this picture they are clear. I've got four of them. It took a little bit of effort to get them into my mouth and I felt bad for both the technician and myself. My deepest fear is that they are going to slip out from between my teeth and that I'll swallow them. Yuck! That would be so gross. As far as I know the only thing holding them in is the friction of my teeth. Ah, what an experience.

Our lazy weekend

I've never had a more relaxing weekend where we did pretty much nothing. Here is a short list of what we did:
  • Watch Ocean's Eleven
  • Watch An American President
  • Play Space Qwest I
  • Play Space Qwest II
  • Play Space Qwest III
  • Play Space Qwest IV
  • Play Space Qwest V
  • Take a quick trip to Wal-Mart to get Nursery lesson foods
  • Go to church
  • Sing camp songs on the coach
Yep, we're a pretty strange couple, but it was wonderful! In Nursery today we got a new little boy who's name is Joshua. He is the happiest most talkative little 3 year old that I've ever met. Despite having spina bifida he looks on life as a grand adventure. He's already touched my heart and I know our little nursery will learn from his special spirit.

16 week appointment

Today Brandon and I went to our 16 week (4 month) baby appointment. It was a quick appointment, but we were able to hear the heartbeat again. I absolutely love that sound. With some cooperation from our baby we should know if it's a boy or girl by July 3rd. I am counting down the seconds.

This pictures helps me realize how much our baby is growing each week. I haven't yet felt the baby moving around, but just envisioning it swimming around is pretty fun. As you can imagine, I spend a lot of my free time thinking about our baby.

My doc. told me today that I should try to cut out some of the sugars and carbs in my diet - I'm gaining a bit too much weight a bit too early. So, I'm on a new mission to conquer my intake of "not so good for me or baby" food. Ah, the disadvantage of not having morning sickness....

This weekend Brandon and I loaded up the car and headed for the mountains. It was just an overnight trip, but it was still very nice. There isn't anything better then a warm campfire and the smell of delicious camp food. Thanks sweetie for taking me camping!

Camping is all about playing games and relaxing

Our lovely little camping spot.

My favorite past time - resting in bed.
