Fun times in March

This post is full of fun pictures that we've taken this month. This first picture has easily become the favorite one of me and Luke. One morning I handed Peter the camera and asked if he would take a picture of me. Before he could snap it, Luke jumped on my lap and posed too. This easily might be the only picture I have of Luke actually smiling in a picture. The sign in back of this picture is completely appropriate - we were so lucky to get such a good one.

Every month we get together as a family down at my parnets to have a FHE lesson and dinner. This time my Mom had the lesson and we talked about Lehi and Sariah taking their family to the promised land. We got to experience what it would be like live in a tent. The boys really loved the object lesson. They thought eating dinner in the tent was awesome.

One day I had to clean the bathroom. Just as I was about to clean the toilet Peter volunteered to do it. He looks abnormally grown up in this picture. It makes me realize that sooner then later he is going to be  grown up and capable of cleaning up after himself without me nagging him.

Brandon has started letting the boys drive us home from church. This was Luke's first time and he loved it. I'm nervous every time he lets them, but I endure it because I remember my Dad doing the same thing with me while I was little. Fun memories, in my opinion, need to be cultivated more frequently while children are young.
Last week Peter brought home the dreaded piece of paper saying that he had been given the assignment to give a talk in Primary. I've been dreading this slip of paper. While I tried to get Peter excited about writing the talk I ended up doing it because it became a power struggle between us. Then, today when he was suppose to get up to the microphone and do it, he became incapable of walking and just screamed that he didn't want to do it. Nevertheless, I made him stand at the front of the room with me while I gave his talk. I'm sure it won't be the most embarrassing moment I have as his mother. Oh, my shy Peter.....

Brandon was also able to cut Luke's cord which was so special. To me, it symbolizes his willingness to support and assist me in raising this child.

Brandon was able to work on the computer tonight and he sort of got it working. I was so happy about that. it's been a nightmare trying to live without a computer.

May 26, 2009

Brandon was in a grumpy mood this evening. I don't know why. He spent quite a while complaining about school and how much he hates it. I tried to be a good listener, but I was feeling so tired that I didn't care much.

Life just isn't as sweet once you get married.

Just as a side note, this was written 12 days after our first baby was born. Sleep deprivation was making a little monster out of me.

Just another gushy email

This is a letter Brandon sent to me just a few days before we were married. Hands down, this is the most romantic letter he has ever written for me. I'm hoping that maybe he'll read this post before our anniversary and write me a similar letter. I think that would be the best gift ever since Brandon isn't a romantic.

December 8, 2005

We spent part of the evening over at Brandon's house decorating the tree. Then, we came over here and began reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Brandon is a great reader and I love listening to his voice.

We had an hour to kill after dinner so we went ring shopping at the Mall. I always thought it would be a head-in-the-clouds experience, but it was more like analyzing loaves of bread. Very interesting.

October 20, 2005

I swear there is a devil at BYU who takes great delight in seeing that I do poorly and feel out of place there. Gosh, how I hate that place. Only 1 more year left though and then I am out of there.

October 3, 2005

Brandon and I had our first fight last night. I suppose it was about time we had one. The disagreement was over doing homework on Sundays. I guessed he would just naturally change his ways because he wants to be a better person for me. Obviously, I was wrong in this belief.

September 29, 2005

I wonder in years to come how Brandon and I will be able to make Christmas special for our little babies. It probably won't be extravagant for a good long time because we will be in school for a number of more years.

I tried to think about Bandon while I was going to sleep. He really is one of the reasons I keep going. The other night when I was trying to fall asleep I came up with a new set of words for the abbreviation CTR. For me it means that:

If I have courage, then when the right time comes, I will get the reward. The reward, of course, is Brandon.

I didn't get to see Brandon today and that was quite sad. As a reward for being patient, I wrote him a little letter before going to bed.

August 25, 2005

I realized today that I'm now 25 1/2 years old. Yucky, oh well, at least I have Brandon. He make me happy.

....Brandon called at 9:45pm just to see how my day was. It made me so happy that he would call.

The Merry Month of March

March is my favorite month out of the entire year. Spring is now coming and the weather is getting warmer here. Most of the time I'm starting to think about what I want my garden to be, and the kids and I can now play outside.

Plus, 7 years ago I married my best friend on March 17th - St. Patty's Day. This year I decided that each day leading up to our Anniversary I would find a little journal entry I had written about us over the years. Each afternoon I'll post my entry on here, and I'm also going to put these notes in Brandon's lunch box each day. I am amazed how quickly 7 years has gone by, and I'm sure another 7 will fly by just as quickly. I really do count my lucky stars that Brandon found me.
