Interviews

Job searching has been more difficult then I thought it would be. Still no job offer, but I keep working hard and applying to many different companies. These are the companies that I have had an in-person interview with:

    Cascade Family Dental

    Liberty Press

    Backstage Library Works

    Country View Assisted Living

    Ashford Assisted Living

    Milk Honey Yogurt

Provo City Center Temple (Garden staff)

I also have an in-person interview for Feb. 6th with a company at the Provo airport that flies cargo for UPS and UPSP. I hope something will come up soon that will be the perfect place for me. The silver lining this week is that I figured out how fast I can type during a pre-interview test. 70wpm under stress. LOL. I'll take that.

The beard

A week or so ago, Larry told me he was going to try and grow out his beard. He wants to get it to look like this one. Here is a picture of him with one weeks growth. He says every time he looks in the mirror he is shocked at the "old man face" staring back at him. LOL.

Topaz adventure

Several months ago I mentioned to Larry that it would be neat to go and see the Topaz Interment camp. It's quite a long drive out there, but it wasn't so bad in the plane. It was the first time I've flown with him when it was raining, but I never felt unsafe and we had a wonderful trip. It was a little somber, but a lot of historical things make me feel that way. I'm so glad Larry was just as fascinated by this place as I was.

A good reminder

This heart shaped leaf made its way into the house this week. It made me stop and think about all the ways I am loved. I am so thankful to feel the love of so many people, especially my Heavenly Father.

Springville City - Passport Agent, Finance Clerk I

Payson City - Accounting Technician Utility billing

Imsar - Administrative Assistant

Alpine Air - Data Entry Clerk (Provo airport)

Ashford Assisted Living Center - Housekeeper

Mountain America Credit Union - PT Member Experience Officer

Carpets America - Receptionist/Sales/Admin Assistant

Target - Human Resource Expert

Rock Top Surfaces - Accounts receivable specialist

I am hopeful that I will get a job offer this week, but nothing is a guarantee when you are job searching. It's an emotional roller coaster in every sense. I will continue working hard to find something that will be great for me for many years. I'd really like to have a job that will give me satisfaction, enough pay, and the ability to become friends with amazing people. Hopefully, that isn't too much to ask from one of these companies.

Photo a day

I've been doing a fun project this month. Each day I have a prompt and take a picture. It's been a great way to see life's simple blessings.

Jan 12th - Gratitude. Larry asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told him that it would be really nice to have a tool bag. I've been keeping my tools in shoe boxes. He gave me this. Then he helped me put it together. I am so grateful.

Jan 12th - Gratitude

Jan 11th - A bowl of fruit. I bought Granny Smith apples to put in our stockings. I though the boys loved Granny Smith apples. I am losing my mind because Luke does not like them, and Peter can't eat them with his braces. The oranges were the last few remaining from a box I bought in November. Can you see them starting to go moldy? I threw them out after taking this picture.

Jan 10th - A favorite book. I've loved this book ever since I was a teenager. There is just something about English romance books that makes my heart happy.

Jan 9th - An Entrance. I talked to my friend Erica on Marco Polo almost everyday. Since she lives in Florida she often goes here. I thought this was a clever photo of an entrance.

Jan 8th - Minimalism. I had a hard time with this one. I am not minimalistic. I love my stuff. Peter recommended I talk a picture of the wall. I thought it was a great idea.

Jan 7th - The Great outdoors. December was a no snow month for us. January has been different. I love my street at night where there is snow. It's so beautiful and peaceful.

Jan 6th - Street Food. I hardly ever buy anything out of a food truck (maybe twice in my life), so this old gum had to do for today. I was giggling as I squatted down to get this perspective. I love how it turned out.

Jan 5th - Random beauty. It was a cold day today and I didn't want to go outside to try and find something that was randomly beautiful. So, I took this picture out my kitchen window.

Jan 4th - A pair of sunglasses. These are my treasured pair of sunglasses. I remember buying them with Brandon on a very rare shopping trip to Target. I'm pretty sure I've had them for over 10 years. They got really bent when Mila took them one day at church. She was just over one years old, and she loved taking them on and off.

Jan 3rd - Yum! This was dinner for the night. It was a super simple homemade pizza. Luke doesn't like my homemade pizza so I always get him a cheap Red Baron one for him at Walmart.  Then Peter and I enjoy this one together.

Jan 2nd - Black and White. I'm sitting on the couch in the front room snuggled up in the best blanket ever. Shannon B. gave it to me when she visited a few days ago. I was trying to get up the motivation to clean up the HUGE pile of toys Mila had left just out of view of the camera. BTW....Mom, I love that banket you gave me that is hanging on the rocking chair. It makes me so happy every time I am in this room.

Jan. 1st - Me, today. Since today was the first I went and picked up my online grocery order from Walmart. I am crazy like that - I always, ALWAYS, get a food pickup on the 1st and 15th. Proof, that I am super crazy about menu planning and organization.

A washer mess - literally

I seem to be quite lucky lately. In the past few years I've learned a lot about taking washers and dryers apart. In December my washer decided to destroy it's drive belt. Unfortunately, it destroyed the pulley on the motor at the same time. I tried my best to fix the mess, but I ended up having to buy a used washer anyway. Despite hoping that the new (used) washer would be amazing, it's only slightly better than the old one. I am just hoping it will limp along until I can afford a new one. The most annoying part of is when the washer drains. It sounds like an helicopter taking off (Luke's words, not mine).

It's also only slightly less annoying that I had to rearrange my laundry room like this, and I hate it. It doesn't feel like an efficient use of the space. Ugh.
