Six months

Yesterday I took Peter to his six month appointment. It was such a relief to go and find out that Peter is doing great. I really look forward to each appointment just to make sure Peter is as healthy as I think he is. Here are his current stats:

Weight: 19 pounds 6 ounces - 75th percentile
Length: 28 1/4 inches - 90th percentile
Head Circ: 42 1/4 cm - 10th percentile

Peter recently went through a little stage where he did not like baby food and it drove me crazy. Thankfully Peter's Dr. said it's not a big deal when babies go through stages like that. What a relief. I have 1st time Mommy syndrome and I worry myself sick about everything Peter does not do that I think he should be doing :-) I hope one of these days I'll be a lot more confident in my mothering abilities.

Oh ye mountains high

This week Brandon took Peter and I up American Fork canyon for a little picnic. It was so beautiful up there and the temperature was absolutely amazing. Peter loved looking at all the trees. He has learned this week how to scream when he is happy and excited, so while Brandon and I ate Peter sat in his stroller and screamed at the trees. It was so fun!

Grammer Goof Up's

Brandon and I laughed so hard when we received this month's newsletter from our apartment complex. This is what we saw that we laughed so hard about:

-Cover up your arms and where a hat.
-Finally, if your child is old enough where protective eye wear.
-Pool closes at 10:00pm NO EXCEPTIONS will be made.

This last one we just laugh at because for the past month there have been people in the pool after 10pm. We know because the pool is right outside our bedroom and we can hear everyone even if they are talking quietly.

While driving

Last Saturday we drove up to SLC to attend the wedding of Bran's awesome cousin Stephen. We drove up there in a torrential rain storm. We were going 65 mph most of the way there. Just before Point of the Mountain (for those of you familiar with the area) I looked over and saw a lady putting on her makeup. No joke! I was very concerned. Not only was she endangering herself, but she was also endangering me and Brandon. Hello ~ I'm not ready to be sent "six feet under". Please do your makeup at home.

Then yesterday when I was stopped at an intersection that led to the freeway the van in front of me rolls down it's window and the guy leans out and empties his electric razor shavings right there on the road. Again, I thought to myself - wow, I can't believe you just did that. Crazy.

Then when I was driving home from Payson today (Pete and I were visiting the parents) a large UPS truck with 3 trailers on it comes barreling down on me. I move into the other lane and it keeps on cruising at it's current speed and comes so close to hitting the guy in front of him. I was so upset about it that I wanted to call the cops on him. Crazy truck driver.

Needless to say, I'm not driving anywhere for a few days :-)

Peter loves food

Peter and I just finished with this very yummy food! I couldn't help but laugh and take a picture of him. He's at the stage where he grabs for his food and opens his mouth so wide I"m afraid he'll swallow the spoon. I love it!

Serving with a smile

Bran, Peter, and I get the chance to go over to the church this coming Saturday and clean it. It's been such a long time since I've cleaned a church.

When I was younger I remember Dad taking Amy, Lisa, and I to our church house one Saturday to clean it. I remember being so happy about getting my chance to do something to help make the church a more beautiful place. I remember carefully cleaning the chalkboards, making sure the rooms didn't need to be vacuumed, and cleaning the mirrors in the bathrooms.

When I got to be a young adult I also had many opportunities to go over and clean the church. This time it was awesome to go with my sisters too. What an awesome opportunity to serve in a very humble way. I am excited to take Peter over there and start teaching him at a young age the importance of keeping the church clean. Come join us if you can for a wonderful teaching/serving opportunity. We'll be at the church at 9:30am this Saturday.

The almost newlyweds

Last night we got a surprise visit from Brandon's most favorite, and very awesome, cousin Steven and his soon-to-be wife Vashti. They are getting married in 8 days! We are so very, very excited. It's been awesome to be a part of their courtship as we've gone on many double dates together. We are so, so happy that they found each other. It's awesome seeing people in LOVE. Enjoy the pixs.

Stupid Sidewalks

I just have to vent about the stupid sidewalks in Pleasant Grove. They are horrible!!! The most busy street in the city has sidewalks for a while and then all of a sudden they are gone. Talk about annoying. Then, when the sidewalk is there its all bumpy, or has tons of gravel from the other parts of the sidewalk that are falling apart. It's so hard to be motivated to go out and walk when the sidewalks make it a constant roller coaster for Peter and a hazard area for me.

Nummy Squash

Peter has always loved his food. So, after he begged relentlessly for part of my tuna fish sandwich a week ago, I decided it was time to introduce him to solid foods. Up to this point, he has enjoyed Butternut Squash, Sweet Potatoes, and Rice Cereal. It's been so fun to introduce him to each new food. He scared me to death through when he went almost 2 days without a bm. I was so worried that he was constipated, but last night after I had tucked him into bed it all came out :-)
