3 months old

Peter turned 3 months old on Friday. He is such a bundle of joy and so darling. He's at the stage where he loves to suck on his fists. He also loves to suck his thumb. Since he doesn't take a binkie I am glad that he finally found his thumb. He is so cute when he falls asleep with his thumb in his mouth. I can't help but kiss his cute little checks multiple times a day.

Peter is also getting ready to roll. Last night he rolled from his front to his back for the first time. Scary! That means my baby is growing up.

Earlier this week Brandon, Peter, and I got out of the house for a "night on the town". My cousins wife Marti had her Senior Project Art Show at BYU's HFAC. It was so awesome to get out of the house with my sweetie for the evening. We both had to sacrifice for having a night out by having Brandon take the morning off work to write the paper for his MBA class. It was worth every second of the sacrifice. You are a super artist Marti! We are so proud of you!

Peter's sleeping

Ah yes, he has established a nighttime routine of sleep. Hurray for my little boy allowing me some sanity. Every night we bathe him at 9pm, feed him, and he drifts off to happy sleep. He then wakes up around 1am and again at 4. It's so wonderful and every day I rejoice that he's figured the whole sleep thing out.

2 Month Appointment

Peter went in for his 2 month appointment on Friday. As we suspected, our cutie weights 15 pounds 10 ounces and is 24.5 inches long. The Dr. said that's good for his age. He also recommended I start him on a 3 hour nursing schedule (instead of every 2 hours). So far Peter's done well on cutting back.

Peter also got 5 shots. Ouchie. The assistant says chubby thighs help and Peter has those. Here's a picture of the Nemo bandaid they gave Peter. His favorite thing to do this week has been to look at his fist and try tracking it's movement with his eyes. It's so funny to watch.

All because of a stroller

When Brandon and I got our travel system we were so excited because we knew we could take it with us everywhere. Then we tried to get the stroller into our car trunk and it wasn't good. Bran pushed, pulled, and prodded. It finally went it but when we took it out I noticed a spot where the fabric had ripped from trying to push it into a spot that's just too small. I was so sad.

So.....we have been searching for a new car and we finally got the one we want. This is my new car. Yahoo! Now I'm a stay-at-home mommy with wheels. I love all the space we have and it's so much easier to transport Peter around. We are so excited to take it camping this summer. Thank you Graco for making our stroller too big for the trunk of our car.

When Brandon was sitting on one of our bar stools yesterday it all of a sudden completely broke. I'm so glad my honey didn't fall on the floor like the top of the chair did. We staged this photo after the event, but it was the same expression Bran had when it happened. LOL.

For Christmas Bran got me a small tabletop tripod. I played around with it the other day and got this cute picture. Peter still had his double chin. I absolutly love it!

NieNie is back

Life is full of miracles. I am continually amazed at the determination and fortitude of Stephanie Nielson. Since her father was my director at UVU I had a first hand look at how their family pulled together and never gave up hope. Today I am reminded that Life is fragile, Love is eternal, and Hope is powerful. Go NIENIE!

Peter's first book

This morning Peter and I read our first long book together. We read Lady and the Tramp and he sat through the entire thing. I was so impressed. He is growing up so fast. Just this week he has discovered his fingers and now he is constantly sucking on them. It's so gross because he gets all slobbery, but at least it shows me that his coordination is developing.

Thomas Family Update

Ah, the holidays were so wonderful for Bran, Peter, and I. We had plenty of time to rest, relax, and spend lots of time with family. The highlights of December were: the girls get together at Thomas', celebrating Mom T's b-day, taking Peter to his first OFFHE (old fashioned family home evening), having Peter meet my brother Kent, Lisa's bridal shower and wedding, and of course, Christmas.

Christmas was wonderful. We started out on Christmas Eve going to the Davis side and eating dinner and dancing around the Christmas tree (a German tradition my mother loves). We then quickly opened a few select presents and then hurried off to the Thomas side. After a amazing Christmas program (yes, Rich - you ROCK on the guitar) we came home to settle in for a night of sweet dreams.

Christmas Day was spent here at home enjoying our gifts and relaxing. We've felt like we've been on vacation ever since. Here are pictures from all our fun frolics.

*By way of an update, Peter is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. For Christmas he got a crib from Grandpa and Grandma Thomas and we've been getting him adjusted to it. I think he is finally okay with sleeping on his own in his own room. Hurrah. He still struggles with sleeping, but I've learned to deal with it. He is a happy baby and he's now smiling and cooing and kicking during all his awake periods. It's so fun to see him growing and developing. He is now 2 1/2 months old.

Everythings falling apart

Over the holidays our computer got a virus so it's been "out of commission" for a few days. Gotta love the mess a virus makes. Thankfully Bran knows how to completely wipe a computer clean and start over. Our digital piano is also broken. We've spent 2 hours this evening pulling it apart to try and figure out the problem. Ah, the joys. Watch for an update with pictures soon.
